kuṇḍodaraṃ tannihataṃ samīkṣya vināyakosau cyutapadmamālaḥ .
drudrāva bāṇaṃ prati hantukāmaḥ karīva bhṛṅgārakarocchrayeṇa36 ..34..
tamānane vajranibhānanaiḥ śarairvināyakaṃ hyātatameva bāṇaḥ .
bibheda bhitvā ca tato rarāsa37 grīṣmavyapāye nabhasīva meghaḥ ...35..
Seeing Kuṇḍodara thus struck down, Vināyaka, his garland of lotuses falling,
rushed toward Bāṇa eager to slay him, raising his trunk like an elephant lifting its spout.
As Vināyaka came rushing, Bāṇa pierced him right in the face with arrows whose points resembled thunderbolts,
and having pierced him, he roared, like a cloud in the sky at the close of summer.
