735 / Sanatkumāra said: / As the confused clash of the pramatha and asura armies raged, / the twang of bows and terrible lion-roars were heard. / With snapped fingers, the gods, cāraṇas, serpents, and guhyakas / cheered, fluttering the edges of their garments, making shouts of joy in battle. / With their prowess inflamed by the loud shouts of the heroes, / the haughty pramathas and asuras performed intolerable deeds. / Struck down by drawn swords, their chests split open by spears, / their vitals severed by arrows, the pramathas and asuras fell. / Piles of severed heads falling along with thighs / were seen there in the clash of the pramathas and asuras. / Broken-wheeled, flagless, stripped of protective sides and poles, / chariots were seen by the hundreds, their horses gone, their charioteers slain.
