He who, having mounted a calling peacock with variegated plumage,
shines with the radiance of the morning sun, holding a spear in his hand, of great might, // 13
beneficent to brahmins, devoted to the sacred knowledge, a celibate observing his vows—
this is Skanda, the leader of the gods, O Dānavas, in battle. // 14
He who stands on a red-crested rooster, radiant like a red-crested mountain stone,
brandishing a spear, shines like a raincloud [brandishing] lightning, // 15
this one wearing youthful sidelocks, with a face resembling the full moon,
is named Viśākha, a youth observant of youthful celibacy. // 16
