atha dṛṣṭvāsurabalaṃ muktaśastrayaśombaram .
bhagnaṃ viṭpatinā yuddhe gajeneva yathā vanam . .9. .
ye ye balotkaṭāstatra prakhyātāśca suretarāḥ13 .
abhidrutā14 viṭpatinā siṃhenevetare mṛgāḥ15 .. 8.143.10 ..
Then, seeing the asura army, its weapons dropped and its armor of fame lost, / broken in battle by Viṭpati as a forest by an elephant,
whichever demon enemies were prominent there and fierce in might / were pursued by Viṭpati like other beasts by a lion:
