vibhinnachinnadāritaṃ pradagdhajagdhanirdhutam .
yathā madāndhakuñjara7 praṇaṣṭapādapaṃ vanam .. 1 2. .
mukheṣu kecidāhatā nirīkṣaṇeṣu cāpare .
urodareṣu8 cāpare9 tathā hatāśca pṛṣṭhataḥ ..1 3 ..

Scattered, severed, torn, burnt, devoured, and tossed about, / [it was] like a forest whose trees were destroyed by an elephant blinded by rut. / Some were struck in the face, and others in the eyes; / others were struck in the chest and belly, and likewise in the back.
