And that arrow, whose essence was Agni, the Moon, and Janārdana, having burned that entire city of Tripura,
having thrown it into the ocean, reached quietude, was pacified, and returned to the hand of Śambhu. // 8.170.60
When those Daityas were slain and Tripura was burned, the god, the cause of creation, dissolution, and the rest,
again endowed the gods standing on the chariot with divine bodies, as before. // 61
Brahmā and the other lords of the heavenly dwellers bowed down, and then addressed this speech to the Lord:
"By you, O Blessed One, has this impossible, auspicious, great, and exceedingly terrible deed been done. // 62
The Daityas are slain; that Tripura is burned; peace has been brought to us, O Lord of gods and asuras.
Obeisance to you, who are always present everywhere, the creator of the gods, O supreme Lord!
Obeisance, obeisance to you who are all-pervading, whose motion and action are ever incomprehensible!" // 63
The god then said to those chiefs of the gods, headed by Brahmā, the Sun, Viṣṇu, Indra, and the Lord of Wealth:
"You must always be protected and guarded by me just like sons, O gods! // 64
