Then, seizing his flashing thunderbolt, Śatakratu, / the corners of his eyes reddened with wrath, hurled it at the one of fire-like brilliance. // 30
By that blow of the thunderbolt, he then took two forms, / and with both forms he rushed against Purandara. // 31
Then, quickly abandoning his pride, the chastiser of Pāka bowed / to that receptacle of fiery energies, and, completely subdued, spoke thus: // 32
“Accept even this sovereignty, sought after by the high-minded; / you alone are fit for the protection of the worlds, O son of the fire! // 33
Though there are other fiery lights that dispel darkness, / the sacred offering is poured only into the fire […] // 34
