varado hyasi lokānāṃ lokānāmapi ceśvaraḥ .
yadi tuṣṭosi śailāderdiśasva pravaraṃ varam . . 11 . .
kṛttivāsāstato devo mūrdhnyupāghrāya nandinam .
uvāca pramatheśānaṃ15 vriyatāmīpsito16 varaḥ . .1 2 ..

'For you are the giver of boons to the worlds, and the Lord of the worlds as well. / If you are pleased, grant an excellent boon to the son of Śilāda.' / Then the God clad in animal hides, smelling Nandin on the crown of his head, / said to the Lord of the Pramathas: 'Choose a desired boon!'
