828 / Nandī beheld that assembly, filled with many wonders, / like a narrative of wonderful contents, endowed with numerous marvelous objects. / In that assembly, Nandī saw the Lotus-born [Brahmā] seated with ascetics, / wondrous, surrounded by the five gods, / expounding the meaning of the Veda to the inquiring ascetics, / and, hearing them all, who knew the commentaries, say, "Excellent!" / Nandī properly and promptly paid homage to the Grandfather. / Then the Grandfather said to Nandī, the leader of the Gaṇas: / "Why have you come after so long?" And he replied to him: / "The daughter of the mountain is going to accept the Aśoka tree as her son. / There, O Lord, God Śaṅkara invites you, / along with these [sages] who resemble fire through their austerity, possessing the Vedas and proclaiming the Veda."
