7.18.89_145

kumbha eṣa tṛtīyastu yogavahnipradīpakaḥ . .37. .
ebhirdhyānagatiḥ sūkṣmā vāyusaṃrodhakāritā .
pravartate yayā yogī paramaṃ veṣṭi pudgalam . . 3 8..

This third is the kumbha [retention], which kindles the fire of yoga.
By these [breaths], the subtle path of meditation is caused by the restraint of the breath; / through which the yogin progresses and envelopes the supreme Puruṣa.
