Merely by the taking up of ashes, all bonds are untied for them. / Merely upon being touched with the ash purified by mantras, one is freed. / Fire consumes what is made by Soma, and they know Īśvara to be fire; / fire, united with Soma again, burns what is done and undone. / All the proud ones, headed by Brahmā, were liberated by ashes; / the ash is the power of his splendour; the ash is Īśvara, the purifier.
