prabhavanti surāḥ somāt pitaro vahnisaṃbhavāḥ25 .
vahnisomātmakaṃ26 tasmājjagatsarvaṃ pratiṣṭhitam . .18. .
īśvarogniśca somaśca bhasma tatteja ucyate .
tejasā tasya saṃspṛṣṭo mucyate janmanā27 dvija28 ..1 9 ..

The gods arise from Soma; the ancestors originate from fire. / Therefore, the entire universe, consisting of fire and Soma, is established. / Īśvara is both fire and Soma; ash is said to be that splendour. / Touched by his splendour, twice-born one, one is freed from birth.
