tatastān devadeveśaḥ strībhūtān hi surottamān .
kimarthamāgatā yūyamiti papraccha śūladhṛk . .1 02 . .
tataste sahitāḥ sarve pūrvaṃ daityavimardanam .
nivedya śambhave paścāt kṛcchraṃ strībhāvamātmanaḥ . . 103 ..

Then the trident-bearing Lord of the gods of gods
asked those foremost of gods turned into women, "For what purpose have you come?"
Then, gathered together, they first reported the devastation by the demons
to Śambhu, and then their own miserable condition as women.
