Then, having bowed again to the Lord, the deities said this:
"O God, make an embodied woman from your own body as well,
with whom we shall forcefully slay the demons, O Supreme Lord!"
Then the God created an auspicious Mother, the goddess Rudrāṇī,
and, assuming a deformed appearance, created a second Mother as well,
named Bahumāṃsā, who embodies the destruction of the universe.
Then, by the command of the God of gods, Lord Viṣṇu as well
created two Mothers: Vārāhī and Vaiṣṇavī.
Brāhmī emerged from the Grandfather, and Śarvāṇī from Śaṅkara;
Kaumārī from the six-faced [god], and Vaiṣṇavī from Viṣṇu;
Vārāhī the goddess from Mādhava, and Māhendrī from Purandara.
