"Bestowing celestial perfections, O goddesses, endowed with celestial yoga you shall be. / And the women who shall constantly worship you according to the secret rites,
charming women endowed with celestial valor, shall become mistresses of yoga. / Chagala and Kumbhakarṇa, my two leaders of the gaṇas,
shall stand as your doorkeepers by my command. / This place, Koṭīvarṣa, the best and beloved of the Mothers,
shall be an eminent celestial cremation ground, bringing happiness." / Having thus obtained these boons, the Mothers, the Mothers of the World,
having bowed down to the lord of gods with devotion, rejoiced, [though] severely tormented. / Thenceforth they all, along with the moon-crested [Śiva],
dwelt in Koṭīvarṣa, granting fearlessness to all the worlds. / In this way the blessed god, the leader of the gaṇas of the Mothers,
was Śaṅkara, O Vyāsa, about which you asked me.
