na tāta tapasā mṛtyuṃ vaṃcayiṣye na vidyayā .
mahādevaprasādena mṛtyuṃ jeṣyāmi nānyathā . .58. .
drakṣyāmi śaṃkaraṃ devaṃ tato mṛtyurna me bhavet .
naṣṭe mṛtyau tvayā42 sārdhaṃ ciraṃ vatsyāmi nirvṛtaḥ . .59..

"Father, not by austerity will I cheat death, nor by sacred knowledge. / By the grace of Mahādeva I shall conquer death, not otherwise. / I will see God Śaṃkara; then death shall not befall me. / When death is destroyed, I shall dwell long with you in peace."
