apatyena mahābhāga7 sarvametadavāpyate .
mama khyātirapatyena brahmaṇaścarṣibhiḥ saha . . 3 . .
kinna paśyasi śailendra yato māṃ paripṛcchasi .
varttayiṣyāmi8 taccāpi yanme dṛṣṭaṃ purācala9 . .4 . .

"All this is obtained through offspring, O fortunate one! / My renown is through offspring, and so is Brahmā's together with the seers. / Do you not see it, O king of mountains, that you question me? / I shall also relate what was seen by me long ago, O mountain.
