śrutvā sakṛdapi32 rhyetaṃ stavaṃ pāpapraṇāśanam .
yatra tatra mṛto33 vyāsa na durgatimavāpnuyāt ..54. .
yodhītya nityaṃ stavametamagryaṃ34 devaṃ sadābhyarcayate yatātmā .
kiṃ tasya yajñairvividhaiśca dānaistīrthaiḥ sutaptaiśca tathā tapobhiḥ . .55 ..

Having heard even once this hymn that destroys sins, / wherever he may die, O Vyāsa, he will not come to a bad state.
He who, with restrained self, continually recites this foremost hymn and worships the deity— / what need has he of various sacrifices, gifts, sacred fords, or well-performed austerities?
