tatra rājā nivasati33 divodāsaḥ pratāpavān .
dhārmiko mama bhaktaśca mahāyogī mahābalaḥ . . 22 . .
sarvaṃ34 tathā gataḥ kuryā yathā35 smai nāparādhyase36 .
tasyaiva cāparādhena śūnyāṃ37 vārāṇasīṃ38 kuru39 .. 23 . .

There lives the majestic King Divodāsa, / righteous, devoted to me, a great yogin, and possessing great strength. (22) / Having gone, act in every way such that you do not wrong him; / through his own transgression make Vārāṇasī deserted.' (23)
