sa evamuktastejasvī nikumbho gaṇasattama40 .
uvāca devaṃ41 praṇataḥ prāñjalirhaṣitānanaḥ42 . . 24. .
tathā kariṣye deveśa yathā sa hi narādhipaḥ .
bhaviṣyatyaparādhīśa43 tvaṃ ca tuṣṭo bhaviṣyasi .

Thus addressed, that radiant Nikumbha, best of the gaṇas, / bowed, folded his hands, and said to the god with a joyful face: (24) / 'I shall act in such a way, O Lord of gods, that the king / will become an offender, O Lord, and you will be pleased,
