suśarmovāca
ataḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi1 narakaṃ kālasūtrakam .
samantānmahatoccena prākāreṇa susaṃvṛtam .. 1 . .
lohajālena ca tathā ākāśepyabhisaṃvṛtaḥ .
yathaikaśca tathā sarve narakā abhisaṃvṛtāḥ .. 2..

Suśarman said: / Hereafter I shall describe the Kālasūtra hell, / enclosed completely all around by a high, massive wall, / and similarly enclosed above in the sky by an iron net. / As this one is, so all the hells are enclosed,
