sthāneśvaramiti khyātaṃ188 nāmnaitat189 sthānamuttamam .

atra yobhyarcayenmāṃ tu paraṃ191 niyamamāsthitaḥ .

The God of gods said: / 'This excellent place shall be renowned by the name Sthāneśvara, / extending for a krośa and filled with various flowers and creepers. / Whoever worships me here, having undertaken the supreme vow, / having fasted for three nights and properly bathed in the river, / and, endowed with righteousness, having fed a brahmin with oblation rice, / shall be freed from all sins and attain my world.
