tataḥ sa ṛṣibhistaistu220 dṛśyamāno mahātapāḥ .
maheśvaraṃ sadā dhyāyan tatraiva samatiṣṭhata221 .. 11 2. .

tuṣṭo dineṣṭame vyāsa svayamevāha śaṅkaraḥ . . 113 . .

Then, being watched by those seers, that one of great austerity, / constantly meditating on Maheśvara, stood right there. / Pleased with him who stood thus and also with his devotion to his father, / on the eighth day, O Vyāsa, Śaṅkara himself said:
