The God of gods said:
"Let there be no fear for you, O gods! I will slay Andhaka,
the excellent son of Hiraṇyākṣa, who has displayed his prowess against you.
And go to the extensive forest situated in the middle of Meru,
holy and twelve yojanas in extent, known by the name Śaravaṇa.
There, O foremost among gods, bursting through your bellies,
that supreme, blazing energy of mine will come forth.
And your bellies, O best of gods, will turn to gold."
Then, having heard his word and having bowed their heads to Bhava,
they went to glorious Meru and that auspicious Śaradhāna [forest],
where, bursting their bellies, that splendor then emerged,
resembling the fire at the end of an era, unbearable to be seen by gods and asuras.
And Meru immediately became glorious and exceedingly charming.
That supreme energy of Maheśvara turned everything golden.
A celestial wind blew, carrying the perfume of flowers of all seasons.
And the bursting incisions in their bellies turned completely into gold.
In heaven, celestial drums sounded of their own accord, unstruck.
Showers of fragrant flowers fell in abundance,
and from invisible beings arose the sound of reverent greetings.
Seeing and hearing such marvels, the best of the gods,
having gone to the wielder of the Pināka, delighted, and reported everything, O you of noble vows,
dismissed by Sthāṇu, went to their own worlds with joyful faces.
