gaṇabhūtāḥ sureśasya yūyamapyamarottamāḥ .
vayamapyatiyogīśā gaṇapāstasya śūlinaḥ .. 37. .
samānā yūyamasmākaṃ hīnā vā tridivaukasaḥ .
yasmādvayaṃ sureśānaṃ paśyāmonucarāma ca ..38. .
sarvaireva suraistasmādvayaṃ pūjyāḥ sadādhikāḥ .
paśyāmo nirbhayā yūyaṃ praveśaṃ kurutāmarāḥ ..39. .
yāvadadya gaṇeśānāṃ balaṃ drakṣyatha dāruṇam .
yadvo balaṃ ca yogaśca22 yattapo yaśca vaḥ śramaḥ ..8.73.40 ..

You, even though best among immortals, are merely gaṇas of the Lord of the gods;
we too are master-yogins, commanders of the gaṇas belonging to that wielder of the trident.
You denizens of heaven are our equals, or even inferior,
because we see the Lord of the gods and attend upon him.
Therefore, we are to be revered by all the gods and are always superior.
Behold, enter fearlessly, O immortals,
so that today you shall see the terrible power of the lords of the gaṇas!
Whatever strength you have, whatever yoga, whatever austerity, and whatever effort—
