surā api tadā sarve vrīḍayā parayā yutāḥ37 .
praṇemurdevadeveśaṃ bhaktyā paramayā vibhum38 ..58. .
tāṃstadā39 vrīḍitāndevaḥ prahasya viditātmavān .
uvāca brahmaṇā sārdhaṃ viṣṇumābhāṣya susvaram40 ..59. .
gaṇeśvaroyaṃ deveśā macchāsanaparassadā .
yadanena kṛtaṃ kiñcid vyetu tadvaḥ surottamāḥ .
kartavyaṃ yacca tad brūta yadarthaṃ yūyamāgatāḥ ..8.73.60 ..

Then all the gods too, filled with supreme shame, / bowed with supreme devotion to the all-pervading lord of the gods of gods. (58) / Then, smiling, the self-knowing god spoke to those who were ashamed, / addressing Viṣṇu in an agreeable tone along with Brahmā: (59) / 'O lords of gods, this leader of gaṇas is ever devoted to my command. / Whatever he has done, let that [offense] pass away from you, O best of gods. / State what must be done, and for what purpose you have come.' (60)
