apradṛśyaṃ hi tamasā tathābhūtaṃ purā yathā .
atha devastadā buddhvā tṛtīyaṃ netramavyayam . .78. .
lalāṭesṛjadūrdhvasthaṃ yugāntāgnisamaprabham .
tejasā tasya netrasya sa girirbhasmasādabhūt50 . .79 ..

unseeable indeed because of darkness, just as it had been of old. / Thereupon the god, realizing it, created a third imperishable eye (78) / located upward on his forehead, radiating equal brilliance to the fire at the end of an aeon. / By the radiance of that eye, that mountain was reduced to ashes. (79)
