andhāssamabhavam̐llokāstadā sarve tamovṛtāḥ .
prakāśārthaṃ tato devi netrametanmayā kṛtam55 ..85. .
lalāṭe sumahadyena dagdhoyamacalottamaḥ .
tvāñca dīnāṃ pitṛvadhādupalakṣya tataḥ śubhe . .86 ..

all the worlds became blind, enveloped then in darkness. / Therefore, O goddess, to bring light, this eye was manifested by me (85) / on the forehead, an immense one, by which this best of mountains was burnt. / And noticing you distressed, O auspicious one, because of the destruction of your father, (86)
