vāditraravasaṃmiśraiḥ siṃhanādaiḥ supuṣkalaiḥ .
rathanemihayānāṃ ca gajānāṃ bṛṃhitaiḥ saha .. 13 . .
sa śabdastumulo vyāsa trailokyamavapūrayat .
devāhyapi8 susaṃyattāḥ sarvodyogena saṃsthitāḥ . .14..

Mingled with the sound of musical instruments and abundant lion-roars,
along with the rumbling of chariot rims and horses, and the trumpeting of elephants,
that tumultuous noise, O Vyāsa, filled the three worlds.
Even the gods, fully prepared, stood ready with all their exertion. (13–14)
