dharmayuddhamabhīpsantastyaktvā śastrāṇyayodhayan .
bahvastatra daityendrā yuyudhurbhīmavikramāḥ ..53..
devāśca54 nāhatā ye vai nābhighnanti kadācana .
padātayastatra sarve yodhayanti padātibhi:55 ..54..

desiring righteous warfare, cast away their weapons and fought. / Many chiefs of the daityas of terrible prowess fought there; / and gods who were not struck never struck in return. / There all the foot-soldiers fought against foot-soldiers. (54)
