mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
hanumadīśvare tatra pratyayaṃ yatpurābhavat /
yadvṛttaṃ dvāparasyādau tretānte ca nareśvarā //

Mārkaṇḍeya said:
O lord of men, listen to the proof that occurred there at Hanumadīśvara in the past, / what happened at the beginning of the Dvāpara age and the end of the Tretā age.
