mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
somanāthaprabhāvo 'yaṃ śṛṇuṣvaikamanā nṛpa /
aṣṭamyāṃ ca caturdaśyāṃ sarvakāle śubhe dine //

Mārkaṇḍeya said:
Listen with a single-pointed mind to this power of Somanātha, O king:
On the eighth and fourteenth [tithis], or at any time on an auspicious day,
