dviguṇād dviguṇīkṛtya preṣayāmāsa dānavaḥ /
te 'pi cāṣṭaguṇāḥ kṛṣṇaṃ chādayāmāsurojasā //

Doubling them again and again, the Dānava shot [his arrows]; / and they, multiplied eightfold, covered Kṛṣṇa with their force.
