kathāṃ ca vaiṣṇavīṃ bhaktyā ye śṛṇvanti narottamāḥ /
brahmahatyādipāpebhyo mucyante nātra saṃśayaḥ //

And the best of men who hear with devotion a tale concerning Viṣṇu / are freed from sins such as slaying a brahmin—of this there is no doubt.
