amāvāsyāṃ jitakrodho yas tu pūjayate dvijān /
bhūmidānena yo bhaktyā tiladānena bhārata //
He who, having conquered anger, honors the twice-born on the new-moon day, / who [honors them] with devotion by gifting land, by gifting sesame, O descendant of Bharata,
