āpadastārayiṣyāmi kṣamyatāṃ mātarātmaje /
ityuktvā tu yayau vyāsaḥ kanyā sā 'pi piturgṛham //

I shall deliver you from danger; forgive me, O mother, [your] daughter.
Having spoken thus, Vyāsa went away, and the maiden also went to her father's home.
