namaskṛtya mahādevaṃ surāsuranamaskṛtam /
praviṣṭāṃs tu yathānyāyaṃ papraccha bhagavān haraḥ //
Having bowed to Mahādeva, who is worshipped by gods and asuras, / the Lord Hara inquired according to propriety of those who had entered:

kimāgamanakāryaṃ vaḥ kuto vo bhayamāgatam /
‘What is the purpose of your coming? Whence has fear come upon you?’
