pitṝṇāṃ majjatāṃ ghore narake dāruṇe bhṛśam /
mucyante te yathā pretās tṛptā yānti parāṅgātim //
so that my ancestors, sinking heavily into terrible, dreadful hell, / may be freed as ghosts, become satisfied, and go to the supreme state.

evaṃ varam ahaṃ manye tvat prasādād umāpate /
Such is the boon I desire, O lord of Umā, by your grace."
