jihvāśaṅkupradānena samānīyakṛkāṭikāḥ /
arddhacandreṇa gṛhyante kṣipyamāṇā itas tataḥ //
With their throats pulled tight by the thrust of a spike into the tongue, / they are seized by a crescent-shaped blade and hurled here and there.
