pitṝṇāṃ tarpaṇaṃ kuryād bhikṣāṃ dadyāc ca bhikṣave /
kāruṇyaṃ sarvabhūteṣu narmadākhyānacintanam //

One should perform libation offerings to the ancestors, give alms to the mendicant, / have compassion toward all beings, and contemplate the narration of the Narmadā.
