praṇamya śirasā bhūmim āgato 'sau hataprabhaḥ /
narmadā taṭam āśritya karśitasvakalevaraḥ //
bowing his head to the ground, he came [there] robbed of his splendor; / resorting to the bank of the Narmadā, he emaciated his own body.
