meghagambhīrayā vācā brahmā provāca vāsavam /
kiṃ vo hyāgamanaṃ devās sarveṣāṃ vai vivarṇatā //
Brahmā spoke to Vāsava in a voice deep as a thundercloud:
"What is your arrival, O gods? Indeed, why is there paleness upon you all?

kenāvamānitās sarve tatsarvaṃ me nivedyatām /
By whom have you all been insulted? Report all that to me!"
