mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
śaṅkhaṃ cakraṃ gadāṃ pāśaṃ saṃgṛhya parameśvaraḥ /
utthitaḥ śayanāt tūrṇaṃ devānāṃ ca jayapradaḥ //

Mārkaṇḍeya said:
Taking up the conch, the discus, the mace, and the noose, the supreme lord,
who bestows victory on the gods, quickly rose from his bed.
