tatas tu deva deveśaṃ śaṅkhacakragadādharam /
caturbhujāvadāt taṃ ca dvandvayuddhapradāyinam //
Then, [looking at] the god, the lord of gods, bearing conch, discus, and mace, / four-armed and radiant, who offers single combat,

dṛṣṭvā gadādharaṃ devaṃ sāṣṭāṅgaṃ praṇato bhuvi /
having seen the mace-bearing god, he bowed prostrate on the ground.
