kulaṃ tārayate viṃśaddaśapūrvān daśāparān /
gaṅgāyāṃ pañcatīrthe ca śrāddhaṃ vai kurute tu yaḥ //

He delivers his family, twenty [generations]: ten previous and ten following.
And one who performs an ancestral offering at the Gaṅgā and at the five sacred bathing sites,
