dīrghatapā uvāca:
brahmahatyā na śakyeta ekena tarituṃ vibho /
deśe kāle yathāśaktyā tacchṛṇuṣva narādhipa //
Dīrghatapas said: / The slaughter of a Brāhmaṇa cannot be crossed over by one alone, O lord. / Listen to that, according to capacity in place and time, O ruler of men.
