tena dattaṃ bhavet sarvaṃ godānaṃ yena vai kṛtam /
teṣām abdakṛtaṃ pāpaṃ naśyed vai nātra saṃśayaḥ //
all that is deemed given by him who makes the gift of a cow. / The sin committed by them over a year is destroyed; there is no doubt here."

puṇyā gatiḥ kathaṃ tāta etat kathaya tattvataḥ /
Yudhiṣṭhira said: / How is this auspicious destiny attained, dear father? Tell this in truth.
