pātre dadyāt tu rājendra yadīcchec chreya ātmanaḥ /
surabhīṇi ca puṣpāṇi gandhavastrāṇi dāpayet //
he should bestow upon a worthy recipient, O king of kings, if he desires his own welfare; / and he should have fragrant flowers, perfumes, and garments offered.
