mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
dakṣiṇe narmadātīre tīrthaṃ paramaśobhanam /
sarvapāpaharaṃ puṇyaṃ gopāleśvaram uttamam //
Mārkaṇḍeya said: / On the southern bank of the Narmadā there is an exceedingly beautiful sacred bathing site, / removing all sins, auspicious, excellent—Gopāleśvara.
