Thus ends the ninth chapter, titled “The Description of Gotras, Pravāras, and Gotra-deities,” in the first half of the Dharmāraṇyamāhātmya of the Brahmakhaṇḍa, the third [khaṇḍa], in the Mahāpurāṇa of eighty-one thousand verses, the glorious Skandapurāṇa.
